Emergency Rice In A Can

According to the USGA, Japan experiences around 1,500-2,000 earthquakes a year, making it the most vulnerable region for earthquakes in the world. As a result there are many products on the market in Japan which address safety and survival concerns.

The Shunmai Shinkan Emergency Rice in Can includes 13,000 grains of rice and will keep up to five years. The fruit of 2,000 years of Japanese rice farming packed into a beer can.

Sold in selected vending machines throughout Japan, the sturdy cans float in water–presumably useful in a tsunami or if you drop your precious rations while crossing Sumida river to escape the remaining population of looting motorcycle gangs as law and order evaporates with the depletion of the land’s oil reserves. You can also admire the can’s beautiful minimalistic design by campfire light as the coyotes begin their long, mournful howling into the stillness of the cold dystopian night.

One Emergency Rice in Can Shunmai Shinkan Set contains:
Eight (8) cans of rice
Each can contains 300g (10.6 oz)
Shelf-life: up to 5 years.
