Seal Bean Dishes

By Cïbone

The Arbor Seal Bean Dishes were carefully produced in Hasami in Nagasaki Prefecture, in the Shiratake kiln, using traditional kimono patterns and the use of the pottery stone of Kumamoto Amakusa ensure an excellent quality.

Hasami, Nagasaki is one of the most important pottery districts in Japan. Porcelain was first made in the area almost 400 years ago, during the Edo Period, and was not only distributed all over Japan but also exported to Europe through the port of Nagasaki.

Pottery stone is a raw material for porcelain to porcelainize without mixing other materials. Amakusa pottery stone is being used as the main raw material for high quality porcelain.
